Cast Polyurethane Roller

Cast Polyurethane Rollers are industrial-grade rollers manufactured by casting liquid polyurethane elastomer onto a metal or composite core. This method ensures a strong chemical bond between the core and the polyurethane, resulting in a highly durable and long-lasting roller. These rollers are designed to perform in demanding environments where wear resistance, load capacity, and chemical resistance are critical.

Overview:

Polyurethane Round Rods are solid cylindrical rods made from high-performance polyurethane elastomers. They are widely used in industrial, manufacturing, and mechanical applications where high durability, flexibility, and chemical resistance are required. These rods combine the elasticity of rubber with the toughness and wear resistance of metal and plastics.

Key Features:

  • Material: polyurethane (PU)
  • Hardness Range: Shore A 40 to Shore D 75 (commonly Shore A 70–95)
  • Colors: Typically red, yellow, natural (translucent), or custom on request
  • Sizes: Standard diameters from 10 mm to 300 mm (custom sizes available)
  • Length: Standard lengths of 300 mm, 500 mm, 1000 mm, or custom cut-to-length

Performance Characteristics:

  • Excellent abrasion and impact resistance
  • High load-bearing capacity
  • Good flexibility and resilience
  • Outstanding resistance to oils, greases, solvents, and many chemicals
  • Non-marking and noise-dampening properties
  • Performs well in a wide temperature range (typically -30°C to +80°C)

Advantages Over Rubber & Plastic Rods:

  • Longer service life under dynamic loads
  • Superior tear strength and elongation
  • Better dimensional stability
  • Greater resistance to compression set

Common Applications:

  • Bushings and bearings
  • Rollers and bumpers
  • Seals and gaskets
  • Machine pads and spacers
  • Custom machined or turned parts
  • Vibration damping and shock absorption components

Machinability:

Polyurethane rods can be easily cut, drilled, milled, and turned using standard machine tools, making them ideal for custom part fabrication.
